A few days ago, overwhelmed with the “serious” reading I have been doing I went on a search for diversionary escape. Books like “Possession” by AS Byatt, a literary suspense sort of thing, came to mind. The result of the search pleasantly turned up “The Bookman’s Tale” by Charlie Lovett.
So far it is just what I needed, intrigue that connects a 100 year old watercolor, a valuable old book, and the authenticity of Shakespeare. What more could you want, throw in a bit of romance and intrigue, add some tea and a fire, il est parfait.
